Penang bridge

Penang 28 February 2010 : Penang Bridge turns 25 this year.; On Apr 13 1985; the 13.5km bridge (with four towers); set 33m above sea level was completed after four years.; The RM850 million Federal Government project was one of the most historic events for modern Penang.; Before the bridge; Penangites depended on the ferries to move to and fro between the island and Butterworth.; It was designed by late Penangite Tan Sri Prof Ir. Chin Fung Kee; a geotechnical engineering specialist and former Vice Chancellor of University Malaya.
